Scott and Rhonda Thompson married Sept 25th, 1999.
Here is the story of how the Thompson's got married..........
Before we started dating, we had known each other for many years and were friends-got along well, occaisionally running into each other from time to time long enough to say hi and maybe play a game or two of pool , but never got together as we both had a relationship with someone else at that time. As years went by, both of us became single and was searching still for that perfect one we had dreamed of settling down with and sharing a life of our own true dreams, I, with a love for horses, drawing, and raising my 3 children of a previous marraige and Scott, a carpenter , (and a jack-of-all-trades) a love to farm, longing for a family and making challenging things from wood. In the spring of 1998 we dated -fell in love and planned to get married. We knew we couldnt be without each other ever.
We had been planning on getting married originally in August of 2000 at our home on the Miner Street Road, surrounded by all of our family and friends, the horses, and the the outdoors ,when we could afford it!

We were married on September 25th , 1999 after we won a beautiful all expenses paid $10,000 wedding package sponsored by businesses in Potsdam NY. Sponsored and coodinated by Karen Osway the owner of Memory Lane , now located in the St Lawrence Center Mall in Massena. In June of 99 we entered the contest that consisted of 10 couples-chosen from a number of entries and then the 10 couples had to compete against each other in 2 different relay races and the couple that finished the two games in the least amount of combined time won!! And that is how we won the $10,000 wedding package. Everything was organized and settings decorated to be like an old fashioned Victorian wedding. Wedding dress, even our rings, tuxedo, and all handmade freezedried flowers (for everyone in the wedding party- (white roses-Rhonda's favorite) , all of our ladies hair was done beautiful by a salon (Total Image), complimentary breakfast and room to prepare for the big day was in a Victorian bed and breakfast, rehersal dinner,professional photo's, gift baskets, savings bond, and many more items to be named by local Potsdam businesses were also donated. We had our "all paid for" reception at the Country Club in Potsdam, got a beautiful ride to the Ives Park in a horse drawn carraige (bride , her maid of honor and bridesmaids) then after we married under the Gazebo of the Ives Park, we were then given a horse drawn ride out to the Country Club , with a bottle of Champagne to start the ride off, and was approximately 2 miles. Awaiting was family and friends of the Locke's and Thompson's and dinner was supplied and paid for by Angelo's seafood, catered, and along with a DJ for after dinner. Ending with a Honeymoon in Niagara Falls all expenses paid for and donated by Apt to Travel in Potsdam. A 2 nights and three day adventure of romantic dinners and tour of beautiful Niagara Falls. Hotel room consisted of the honeymoon suite with a beautiful Red Heartshaped Hot-tub!!!! I need not say more there now do I????
This wedding was called the "Marraige made in Potsdam" and was truley a marraige made in Heaven for us. We only could have dreamed of a wedding so exstrordinary and so beautiful.
Sooooo, this is how the Thompson's became husband ,wife and already made family!
We would like to thank everyone in Potsdam who donated their gifts and time to make this a very special and unforgetable wedding day and honeymoon for us and everyone who were involveled......... We hope you enjoyed our lovely story.
Never give up hope, that someday you will find true happiness and a best friend to share your most precious dreams with................... Dreams Do come true...........They did for us, they can for you too!!!

For all you people out there who think you will never find that special one for you, have searched and are longing for someone to care for you and love you for who you are, dont give up. I didnt !! My only regret is that I didnt meet Scott sooner in life to be able to have children together with him but he has been a wonderful father to my three children and has learned to love horses and raising foals as much as I do. We were friends before we became a couple and now I have a true best friend, my husband. We have built this farm with pure love and honesty and that is how we treat all of our customers, true honesty is our number one promise. That is how you will build a successful business and relationship, is with honesty. If you dont have that, you have nothing to keep it together!!! A marraige and a business.
